telent Password Help
telent Password
Your telent password account is used for authenticating to
certain
telent services. For
telent employees you should generally use your unique employee id
for your account name.
External customers and partners should use their email address to access all
services. Applications which accept the telent password often carry
the telent password padlock logo. Clicking the padlock logo
will bring you back to this service so that you can manage your own password.
Password Restrictions
While most people now understand the need for complex passwords on all systems,
analysis shows that if permitted some people still choose simple passwords
perhaps based on their name, or the name of the service they are trying to use,
or a simple word such as password. As this authentication can allow you access
to telent confidential or personal private data we have put in
place the following complexity requirements to assist you in choosing a more
secure password.
Your password must:
-
Be at least 8 characters in length.
-
Contain a minimum of 1 UPPERCASE or lowercase
letter(s).
-
Contain a minimum of 1 numeric
digits.
-
NOT contain a £ (british pound) symbol as it cannot be typed on all keyboards.
-
NOT appear in the common password dictionary.
-
NOT contain your first or last name or userid.
We advise you to change your password on a periodic basis or immediately when
you believe it may have been compromised. When changing your password you
should choose a completely new set of characters rather than simply changing a
sequence number. Some systems will reject your password if it hasn't been
changed within a specified period of time.
How do I reset my password?

If you do not know your password or have never had one or simply wish to change
it - the process is identical. Simply follow the three step self-service reset
process. You enter your email address to locate your account. You will be sent
a unique unlock code assuming your entered email
address is registered. The email will contain a link back to this service or you can copy and
paste the code if you prefer or the link has been garbled. You will then be
able to set your password as desired. Sending the unlock code to your email
ensures that only you can reset your password and that your email account is
still valid. Note that you will only get an email reset if you have a telent
account However you should note that if someone else has access to your email
then they can also set your telent password.
Staff working in IT cannot set or see your password.
